Playoff's
| 06 September 2009
It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve been on here and we have really made a push for the Playoff’s. I think it’s going to go to the wire, but we are in a good position, although could do with picking some points up at Newport, followed by winning our final 2 home meetings.
The team’s really buzzing at the moment and the results last weekend at Glasgow were due to a team effort, with everyone being paid for a win and getting behind each other. If anything we were hard done by and should have taken all 4 points, but we would have taken 3 before the meeting, so can’t complain.
This week’s meeting against Rye House was another good result. Mark and Rene were superb with their max’s and everyone else chipped in with vital points to wrap up another 3 point home win. I was happy with my performance, I felt quick enough to score more, but in my last one Joe Haines rode a blinding race and there was no way past.
There was a slight issue with the track as it was a bit awkward going into the 3rd bend, but full credit to the track guys, they cleared it and it was fine after the short break. Before everyone starts to jump on the bandwagon again, they should remember that it rained most of the back end of this week and a lot of Sunday Morning. This means that when the track staff turn up on Sunday (The only day they are allowed to get on the track), the first thing they have to do is spend a couple of hours pumping water off the track, before they can even start working on it. So I think it’s a credit to their hard work that the meeting even started.
So, we’re off to Newport next week, where I hope we come back with points in the bag and a bit further along in securing 3rd place.
Cheers
