Ready to go!

Hi
It was good to blow the cobwebs off at Press and Practice and it seemed to go well with everyone getting some laps in. My only hiccup came when a chain jumped off and brought my Sunday to an end.
The fact that both days went ahead though is a credit to the Newcastle promotion, who hired machines to remove the wet shale and all the track staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly to get the track in a decent state.
With Dakota being the only one to have never seen the track, he used both days to get as many laps in as he could and you could see the improvement every time he went out. I’m confident he will do a good job for us.
A lot of the time was used for testing the new exhausts (which have since been put on hold). Im pleased about the exhaust situation as they were introduced far too quickly, without any substantial testing. Engines were getting very hot and in some cases seizing, which would be a very costly way to start the season.
I'm really looking forward to Saturday now and getting to the tapes with other riders and with the return leg on Sunday, its the perfect way to break into the new season.
