Tyne Tweed Trophy

Hi again.

It was a relatively successful weekend, picking up the Tyne Tweed Trophy, although Berwick made us work very hard for it. These meetings are always tough as most of the Berwick boys know our track so well. In the 3 years I have been a diamond, this is the biggest margin we have won by (1 point in 08, 2 points in 09 and 4 this season), so it’s a good way to start the year.

The track was in great shape last week and I felt a lot happier by the end of the night that I had found the right set up. I was poor away from the tapes and it cost me points, especially when Craig and Clewsy team rode perfectly to keep me at the back, but I’m sure with a few more starts I will get the sharpness back!

Kenni was in great form and done the business in heat 15 to bring the trophy home. Mark had a great weekend, despite feeling under the weather. Rene was flying too and could have had a max, if not for his spill. Deek was unlucky and would have had a lot more points, if not for mechanical gremlins.

It was great to see Adam take the win in heat 2 and Dak showed promising signs after only 1 meeting. These 2 will be our trump cards once they are dialled in around Brough.

We have another home and away against Redcar this week, which will be another tough weekend, but all the boys are looking to use these challenges to get back in the swing of things and iron out any teething problems to be on from for the Premier Trpohy.
