Back from a much needed break

Hi ya

Well, it was a hectic week heading up to Cardiff with the meetings at Somerset, Stoke, Home then Sheffield and unfortunately I picked up a little injury in the first one at Somerset.

I got my hand stuck in a back wheel when 3 of us fell in my 3rd ride of the night. Sadly I was unable to complete the rest of the meeting as I had burnt my left hand and hurt my wrist.

I was unsure whether I would be riding at Stoke, but after an all clear from the x-rays, I decided to take some painkillers and give it a go. It wasn't too bad when I was riding although I was not 100% and it showed on the bike. I was very tense and not really riding as I should, but I came away with 6 points at Stoke and at home.

The Sheffield meeting was even harder as the burn had started to scab over and it was harder to move my hand, but even without the bad hand I didn't ride very well. I struggled with my set up and couldn't get the bike working in the dirt and it cost me a few points.

Thankfully we had a 10 day break and I decided to give Cardiff a miss and get myself away for a week. I booked a week in Corfu on the Wednesday and left on the Friday. A week in the sun certainly helped as the hand cleared up and although the wrist is still a little weak, I felt much better on the bike. My starting was poor, but I have some new clutch bits coming for the weekend and hopefully I will be back in double figures very soon.

We have a very important spell of meetings coming up, with the PT final against Birmingham. We hit top form against Somerset and if we carry on, we have a great chance of some silverware next week.

We have some important away meetings in August also, with trips to Redcar, Berwick and Glasgow. If we pick up some away points, it will help us put some pressure on Edinburgh at the top of the table.

See ya
