Jay scores 6 from 4 rides at Workington

Jay managed a respectable 6 from 4 rides at Derwent Park in the Premier Trophy, first official fixture of the season. Coming second behind Messers Compton, Doolan and Rymel then trailing a last in heat 13, Jason would be the first to admit that he didn't have his best ever night. Interestingly his only previous outing as a Diamond at Workington was back in September 08 when he too scored 6 from 4.
The evening was marred by injury, not just on the track. Newcastle's team manager Dickie Juul sustained a nasty finger injury and was taken to hospital shortly after heat 7, to be joined later by Trent Leverington who sustained a bad fall, got up and completed the meeting, only to be taken to hospital at the end of the meeting. The extent of his injuries is unknown at present but he has certainly been ruled out of the challenge match against Redcar.
