Jason endured a tough evening scoring 2+1 from his four rides in a challenge match at Redcar as Newcastle continued their unbeaten start to 2010.
The highlight of Jay's evening was helping Rene Bach to a 5-1 over Stuart Swales and Maks Gregorgic in Heat 7.
Two points proved to be the difference between the teams as Newcastle scored a 4-2 in Heat 15 to win the first leg.
