Jason helped Newcastle to a 22 point victory against Birmingham in the first leg of the Premier Trophy final with a four ride paid maximum.
With the scores level after two heats, Jason and Rene scored a great 5-1 against Aussie duo Justin Sedgeman and Richard Sweetman in Heat 3.
In the rerun of Heat 5 Jay and Rene got their second 5-1 of the evening ahead of Lee Smart and the excluded Jason Lyons.
Heat 9 saw Jay and Rene complete their third 5-1 of the evening over experienced Aussie Steve Johnson and British youngster Kyle Newman.
In Jay's final ride of the night he got his first win of the evening ahead of Kyle Newman and Anders Anderson.
The second leg of the final is on Wednesday at Birmingham, hopefully Newcastle can do enough to bring home some Silverware for the first time since 2001.
