Newcastle were dealt a cruel blow in the 4TT at Peterborough, Rene Bach suffered an engine failure having battled from fourth to first on an afternoon where genuine overtakes were at a premium and this cost Newcastle victory in their group and ultimately put them out of the tournament.
Newcastle would have won their qualification group ahead of eventual winners Birmingham, a day to forget!
Jay scored two crucial third places the highlight being in his first race when he performed a stunning outside overtake of Berwick's Michal Makovsky.
